The Woman In Black Producers To Tackle Jack The Ripper Tale Gaslight
Linda Ge writes for Bleeding Cool.
After the unexpected surprise success of Daniel Radcliffe horror flick The Woman in Black last weekend, it looks like the industry is suddenly keen to greenlight more horror projects that went unproduced before. Hammer, the genre arm of Exclusive Media and the studio behind The Woman in Black, are looking to get further ahead of the pack by immediately targeting Jack the Ripper tale Gaslight, from the 2011 Blacklist script by Ian Fried.
Gaslight, described as being in the vein of From Hell and Silence of the Lambs, follows Jack the Ripper as he's secretly imprisoned in a London insane asylum and is called in to help Scotland Yard solve a series of grisly murders where the victims are all marked by two distinct puncture wounds to the neck.
Edward Cullen, is that you? Let's hope they can get Harry Potter back in here to stop him.
This is just one of several Hammer projects that we'll be hearing about in the coming days – including The Quiet Ones, which we were talking about earlier.
