2018 Razzies: It's Optimus Prime vs. Christian Grey for Best of Worst
***UPDATE*** Whoops!
Let's be honest: even for the most die-hard film buff and awards junkie, this time of year can get to be a bit much. We're in that cycle now where it feels like you can't throw a rock in any direction without hitting an awards show. After a while, you start blurring the lines between the "Screen Academy Globes Awards" and the "Golden Actor Guild Awards;" which is why it's nice to have an awards season palette cleanser like the Razzies.
With their 38th ceremony set to take place on March 3rd, 2018, The Golden Raspberry Awards ("The Razzies") unveiled their 2018 Razzie nominations; and it looks to be a good-bad year for Transformers: The Last Knight and Fifty Shades Darker, who have the "honor" of leading the pack with nine and eight nominations, respectively. But there's also more than enough "tough love" to spread around to a number of other films and to "highlight" individual "achievements." You can see the full list of categories and nominees for yourself below.
Co-founded by UCLA film graduates and film-industry veterans, John J. B. Wilson and Mo Murphy and with the first held in March 1981, the annual Razzie Awards ceremony recognizes the worst in film and traditionally precedes the Academy Awards ceremony by one day. The awards are in the form of a raspberry which sits atop a Super 8 mm film reel, with the entire award spray-painted gold.
