SDCC '15: FX Fearless Arena Frightens Up A Storm
By Frazer Brown
American Horror Story is one of my all time favourite shows. Naturally I jumped at the chance to check out a sneak preview of the freshly built American Horror Story Hotel, built to promote the upcoming series of the same name this October.
FX have built the "Fearless Arena", a sectioned interactive area promoting their upcoming slate of shows under the shadow of the 100 foot poster of The Strain right on the doorstep of the Hilton Bayfront. We were lucky to be able to see the different sections of the arena this morning before the San Diego crowds ran in like ravenous vampires. It's pretty huge in scope and well worth checking out.
The official blurb runs:
Check Into The American Horror Story "Hotel," Rise to the Challenge of The Bastard Executioner's Medieval Forest, Dare to Enter The Strain'sLive-Action Virtual Reality World, Bundle Up for a Blizzard In A GiantFargo Snow Globe, Get Collectible Trading Cards with a Code for a 12-Day Trial Access to FXNOW
"FX Fearless Arena" Open to Fans Throughout Comic-Con, From Thursday July 9th to Sunday July 12th
I had a great time in each section especially Fargo snow globe photo booth and the 360 degree The Strain virtual reality.
As an added bonus There are prizes, bags and lanyards to be had for people who keep a beady eye out, And the opportunity to win a $100 prize in the American Horror Story Hotel itself.
