The event was hosted by a woman named Commander Holly, who had an awesome cosplay for Rocket Raccoon Her co-host came out wearing just a Groot mask, which was disappointing, but I rolled with it, ready to see some Marvel costumes.
It was then I glanced to the section to my left, and noticed something strange[...]

Nothing, actually And that's the secret origin of the following list.

We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.
It may be the best selling comic by Marvel to vendors this month, but it couldn't beat the top ten this week, with both Batman Eternal and Original Sin beating out Rocket Raccoon… but there are three Guardians books that make it into the top[...]
Our trusty toy-collecting reporter Christopher Smith made an unusual discovery at Meijer, a Midwestern grocery/sundry goods chain. He says: I expect to
I randomly went into a Toys R Us looking to see if there might be that supposed exclusive Rocket Raccoon plush available yet, and I did find a whole wall of Guardians of the Galaxy Toys that I learned had just arrived that day It was a tough choice but I went with some action[...]
Today sees the publication of Rocket Raccoon #1 and The Legendary Star-Lord #1, both spinoffs from The Guardians Of The Galaxy But there is something else that is different about them compared to other Marvel titles being published today.

From Max Brooks to Rocket Raccoon, from Adventure Time to Transformers/GI Joe, from Rocket Raccoon to Doctor Who, from Bear Bricks to Mini-Mates… time to start working out which line you'll be in all show long… and for Bleeding Cool's Will Romine to start preparing his flippers list.
And you know how yesterday we reported a[...]
Two days ago, Bleeding Cool ran the news that Loot Crate were telling comic book publishers that they were ordering 150,000-180,000 of a variant cover of Rocket Raccoon #1 to send in their monthly subscription blind boxes to fans across the US, which may go some way to explaining the 300,000+ pre orders that Marvel have[...]
But it seems to have set a precedent.
Today, the online subscription store Loot Crate have been telling comic publishers that they have ordered a significant amount of the previously reported 300,000 orders for Rocket Raccoon #1.
CBR reported roughly 100,000 copies but I have direct sources that tell me that Loot Crate are claiming 150,000 orders[...]

And as Tom Brevoort says, in a year they'll be publishing the Fantastic Four.
Oh, Axel did confirm one of our other stories, that Rocket Raccoon #1 had had 300,000 pre orders…
We already had fun dissecting Marvel Senior VPP Tom Brevoort's take on this, and the wiggle room he left large enough to drive a[...]

I was also anticipating this book with its lovely cover by Skottie Young, but it's another book that you can't quite predict until you have it in hand It brings out the true wackiness underlying the Marvel[...]
Oh what a shame…
They've only just solicited the new Skottie Young-written Rocket Raccoon comic And one of the retailer incentives was the Mike Mignola cover, a creator associated with the character since his mini-series with Bill Mantlo in the eighties Retailers would get one for every fifty of the normal copies they ordered of the[...]

But they are Thanks to the Guardians Of The Galaxy movie.
And Marvel with have a comic book lined up just in time.

It was as true when I saw it at San Diego and at New York last year, as it was when it went live to everyone during the Superbowl that, despite the heavy prominence given to Starlord in the Guardians Of The Galaxy trailer, the star was Rocket Raccoon.
It was exactly the dissonance between form[...]
Well, the Free Comic Book Day comic in May was a big hint.
But from July, Rocket Raccoon gets his own series from Marvel Comics written and drawn by Skottie Young.
No 1 book of July? It's very possible.
Marvel PR gave MTV the news to run today, which they have done The character has been booming in[...]
Bill Mantlo, the co-creator of Rocket Raccoon, was the victim of a hit and run a number of years ago and was left with severe brain damage and in need of constant care.
In recent days, Greg Pak has announced a number of fundraising projects to help pay towards the healthcare costs of Bill Mantlo, and many creators[...]
If you think the look of Rocket Raccoon, walking across the screen in the Guardians Of The Galaxy trailer looks ridiculously wonderful, think how utterly insane it must have looked when he first appeared in 1976 And spare a thought of the writer who co-created him, Bill Mantlo.
Greg Pak posted a reminder of Mantlo's condition[...]
Guardians has Rocket Raccoon, after all And he is adorable.
But actually the event also promoted Planes: Fire and Rescue, also coming this summer, and Lucasfilm's animated Starwars: Rebels series coming to Disney XD And there I would definitely pause and say there is no reason why those products should not be marketed quite aggressively to[...]
