AEW Dynamite This Week Features Jon Moxley, TNT Quarterfinals, More
AEW has revealed the lineup of most of or all of the matches and segments taking place on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. In addition to two semifinal matches in the TNT Championship tournament, we'll also see Brodie Lee in action against Marko Stunt. Then we'll hear from AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, and there's that big coronavirus blowoff match between the Best Friends and Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc.
TNT Tournament Semifinal: Dustin Rhodes vs. Lance Archer
Dustin Rhodes takes on Lance Archer in one of the TNT Championship tournament semifinal matches. Rhodes avoided retirement by defeating Kip Sabian in the quarterfinals, but can he stand up to Lance Archer's monster push? Probably not. I'm thinking Archer does a number on Dustin to send a message to his brother, Cody.
Brodie Lee Takes on Marko Stunt on AEW Dynamite
AEW has seen ratings drop due to over-usage of jobbers, but they still need to build up Brodie Lee. This calls for a Jobber to the Stars. Marko Stunt is happy to fill the role and make Lee look great when he tosses Stunt around the ring as well. This should be fun with a few hopeful moments for Stunt but mainly a showcase for Lee.
TNT Tournament Semifinal: Cody Rhodes vs. Darby Allin
There's a lot to unpack in this match. Cody is going for the TNT Championship because he can't go for the World Championship, which is one of many things surely grating on Darby Allin's nerves. Allin has become frustrated with Cody is recent weeks, and despite his popularity has yet to get a huge win. The more exciting choice to win here is Allin, but I'm not sure that's what will happen, as the tournament seems to be building to Cody vs. Archer. But then again, Allin vs. Archer would be great too. And Cody vs. Dustin yet also has potential.
Jon Moxley Speaks on AEW Dynamite
Jon Moxley just wrapped up his coronavirus feud with Jake Hager, and now it's time for him to get ready for AEW's return to Florida and Double or Nothing. Aside from the empty arena match and video packages, we haven't seen much of Moxley since he's been quarantining and not a part of the more intimate Georgia tapings. What's next for Moxley? I guess we'll find out on Wednesday.
Best Friends vs. Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc Grudge Match
AEW hasn't released a graphic for us, but Tony Schiavone promised this match at the end of last week's Dynamite, and when has Tony ever lied? This feud seemed to be built just for the pandemic, by nature of all these wrestlers being available in Georgia. With that era coming to an end and tapings returning to Florida, this should be the blowoff. Sometimes, a nice, short story is enough. I'm looking forward to this match the most.
AEW Dynamite airs at 8 PM Wednesday on TNT.
