We've seen the trailer, but now we have the stills from the upcoming Flash episode, 'Elongated Journey Into Night', where we get to meet two new characters. First we see Flash (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) interacting with former cop Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer) who is the super-stretchy Elongated Man. From a casting perspective, I don't think they could've found an actor that looks more like the character.
For those curious, there are a lot of stretching superheroes, the three most popular being Plastic Man, Elongated Man, and Mr. Fantastic over at Marvel. The oldest of these is Plastic Man, who was created in 1941 and then bought by DC Comics in 1956. Elongated Man was created in the pages of The Flash #112 by writer John Broome and artist Carmine Infantino in May 1960. Mr. Fantastic and his friend came along in 1961.
Julius Schwartz, the editor of the Flash, instructed the creative team to come up with a new supporting character for the series. Schwartz was unaware at the time that DC owned Plastic Man, and it's said he was not used as any form of inspiration for Elongated Man.
The other new character is Breacher, played by Danny Trejo. Breacher, who looks nothing like his comic book counterpart, is the father of Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) and has a similar job as hers. The episode is directed by Tom Cavanagh, that's why he appears in so many of these pictures not looking like Harrison Wells.
