Marvel's The Defenders Villain Alexandra Will Have Connections To All Of The Team Members
We don't know a lot about Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra in the upcoming Marvel/Netflix series The Defenders, but we might have some hints from Mike Colter. Colter spoke to TV Guide at the MTV Movie and TV Awards and gave us some hints about Alexandria and the overall villain of the team-up TV show.
"The villains that we're dealing with are a combination of several entities, um, and they all have something to do with our separate stories that have played out in each of our own individual series. So this has been going on for a while. It wasn't obvious each individual series, but in this series you'll find out that the things that happened to all of us basically were all because of one entity and that's what's gonna kind of tie things together and then we'll see that, we'll understand that, and before you know it, eventually we'll fight together or not."
So what does this mean? Did Alexandra have a hand in the chemicals that blinded Matt Murdock or gave Jessica her powers? Did she have some sort of financial connection to Rand Enterprises? Did she sign off on the experiments that gave Luke his powers? We don't really know right now, but the idea that she's been in the background this entire time is an interesting one, if nothing else.
Marvel's The Defenders will stream to Netflix on August 18th, 2017.
