RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 5: Some Girl Group Challenge Love

Okay, so while I may be woefully behind on the current season of All Stars, VH1 and Drag Race have me covered, thanks to their YouTube channel. It has everything: clips, recaps, and even the full "Pit Stop" episodes featuring the best host ever, Bob The Drag Queen. And of course, she has different queens joining her each week as they add commentary and "spill the T" on all the contestants. Need convincing? You can check out what I'm talking about below:

This week's challenge is one of my favorites that keep popping up each season: singing/girl group challenge! This week, the stars are tasked with writing and recording a verse to their mega-girl group production number dedicated to their celebrity crushes.  I am absolutely gagging at some of their verses – if you don't believe me, give it a watch for yourselves below:

Let's talk challenge standouts then, shall we? I bet you didn't even recognize Ongina in the clip. She's so different, and I don't think she really owns the "trendy pop star" look. I can see she's trying to serve up Spice Girls/Rebecca Black/Ariana Grande vibes, but she just didn't quite make it there. The whole look and performance were just disappointing, and it's a shame that Ongina just gave up this week, because she's super talented. Now, let's also chat about Blair St.Clair. -She was another miss for me, even though I loved her overly comedic verse. I mean, dressed like a cute trendy teen and singing about how she loves Hannibal Lecter? Sickening. Though that ill-fitting harness thing, WTF is with that? It didn't work in my opinion, just like her uber-dorky dance moves. It was a choice, but not one I think that really screamed: "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars!".

As for those who definitely slayed the challenge, of course you better believe it was Shea Coulee. Shea absolutely slew this challenge from head to toe. I mean, her runway look is absolutely to die for: she gave us the goddess herself and held nothing back. No spoilers, but I am living for her during the entire episode. Other standouts that caught our eye were Jujubee, Alexis Mateo (I totally stan her – Team PR!), and of course, Mayhem Miller.
