Spy x Family Season 2 E11 Review: Becky, Yor Compete for Loid's Love

Crunchyroll's Spy x Family S02E11 "Berlint in Love" & "Nightfall's Daily Life" pits Becky against Yor in her wacky quest to win Loid's heart.

The eleventh installment in the second season of Crunchyroll's Spy x Family was another two-parter, "Berlint in Love" and "Nightfall's Daily Life," that pits Becky against Yor in her quest to win Loid's heart. We also get to see Nightfall again, which makes everything way more promising when it comes to heart matters. It was a fun episode that once again shows Yor's motherly side; even if a bit awkward, she is still so warm-hearted, and it is great when everyone gets to see it.

The first part, "Berlint in Love," focuses on Becky, who has decided to go visit Anya to meet her dad and put her plan in motion to make him fall in love with her. Totally unhinged, yes, definitely. However, I had to remind myself it was a little girl who had been watching too many romance shows. Anyway, I love how the episode develops through their thoughts as Anya keeps listening to Becky's unhinged train of thought and even convinces her it would be great to have Becky as a mom for all the luxury her family can afford. However, Loid's cluelessness as to what has ensued upon his asking Becky about her life was funny and just kept making matters worse.

Of course, Yor gets home, and things get competitive for Becky as she needs to win Loid's heart. Yor immediately catches on; however, she is so socially awkward she believes Becky when she pretends to be drunk off of tea. I could not stop laughing when Yor just took her and ran with her to take her to a hospital, and then Becky had to admit to what she did. I loved their interaction and how Yor de-escalated the situation itself by agreeing with Becky about Loid's handsomeness and how he picked her because she was strong. Becky's immediate admiration was endearing and even more so when Yor broke a whole strength game trying to help Becky win for Loid.

I really love the episodes when Yor gets the recognition she deserves, even if it is not in any intended matter. Regardless of her career path, Yor is so sweet and warm to the Forgers and those around her. After Becky realizes Yor's insane strength, she asks to be her apprentice. My favorite part, though, was Loid's eyes when Yor did the strength demonstration. I cannot get over the silly faces of the characters in this show; they are always priceless. This has been a great season so far, and this episode was another little gem that, despite being sort of deranged I could not stop laughing.

The second story in this episode of Spy x Family, "Nightfall's Daily Life," focused on Nightfall, or Fiona, if you would. We have not seen her in quite some time, I was really hoping she would make a chaotic appearance soon, and ta-da, she is back. Not chaotic yet, but we see her taking over Twilight's cases as he is away on vacation. I love how the story develops as we see what Loid is up to on the cruise vs. what Nightfall is up to at those moments. I kinda feel bad for Nightfall, I get why she thinks she would be perfect for Twilight, but it is also a bit toxic. Not to mention, you ain't Yor, bruh. I find Nightfall's little moments when she allows herself to feel lovey are pretty adorable, though. I hope we get to see more of her. She would be a great fit with Yuri, I think.
