'The Witcher': Henry Cavill Comments on Geralt Casting

It was long rumored to be something that Henry Cavill wanted to do, and just earlier today, Netflix revealed that the Justice League star will indeed be playing Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming adaptation of The Witcher.

Henry just posted over on his Instagram:

"Please note, I'm rarely there. Monster slaying being what it is. So, replies will be few and far between, if at all," he says.

The Witcher showrunner and head writer Lauren S. Hissrich also commented on the confirmation today, saying that Cavill was her "first meeting". She mentions his passion, and that he IS Geralt. She's been one of our best sources of information on the series, and she's even teased her ideas for the end of season 1 of the show.

We also can't wait to see how they manage to get Cavill's dog Kal (because of COURSE his dog's name is Kal-El) in the series too.

Just last month, one of our favorite artists BossLogic released this pretty amazing piece of art featuring Cavill as Geralt, and we can only hope the styling of the extremely tall Englishman looks half so good.

We'll let you know when we learn anything else about the series.
