Tower of God Season 2 Episode 3 Kept Things Rolling Along: Review
Tower of God S02E03: "The Trustworthy Room" did a very fine job blending light-hearted and serious moments while still keeping things moving.
The third episode of Crunchyroll's current season of Tower of God, "The Trustworthy Room," was a fun episode. It really does not make you wait long to get things moving, pretty much like the past season. This episode had new howling at some points, and I really enjoyed it. This has turned out to be one of the anime gems I have found this year thus far.
Well, it seems Hon is not as bad as I initially believed. It seems he has a soft spot for Miseng as he tries to warn her about Stranger danger. I should have known he would, considering how much he reminded me of Mitsuya from Tokyo Revengers. But ask in all he is right, like first: what is a child doing there? Secondly, that creepy woman was too flashy and sus to pass for good. Definitely another red flag. However, Wangnan pulls a Bam and brings the initial crew together for a game of cards. Aah, he really does remind me of Bam in the first season.
After a nice game, everyone goes to bed – and then, the next test starts. It really took me on a loop and I had to watch it a couple of times to make sure I understood it and still do not think I fully did. However, that did not really take away much from it, considering how things played out. This season, I feel moves way faster than the first one did. During this, we find out quickly that Hon may have a kid, and Kang likes Goseng. Our main players quickly try to convey at two locations to get their team sorted. I like how they did not waste time in senseless fighting; it was very reminiscent of the previous season – coming to a close quicker, thanks to Wangnan. Our main crew had been quite likable so far, though I still hold questions after the turns on the previous season.
Viole (Baam's new name) goes directly to the ranker to get his win. I love the new Baam and how direct he is, especially with Yihwa. However, he put her on pause and then did the same to Prince and also tried it on the guy conducting the test. Did anyone else feel the need to slap that dude a bit at that point? Casting aspirations on Viole… yes, yes, I know he seems to have joined a gang, but I refuse to believe Baam is bad. The tower and the people in power, though? I have a feeling there is something sus going on there, and I kinda hope Viole gets to them soon.
So far, I am really enjoying where season two is taking us, and I hope we get to stumble against the characters from season one soon. I like the dialogue and interactions between the characters. They come off as very organic within the story, and I love the vibes that our main crew has given thus far. I hope we do not come across another Rachel… though taking about Rachel, I hope everyone knows the real her by this point, I cannot wait for karma to come and collect from her.
