The Day Matt Smith Was Out-Acted By An Eight Year Old Child
The other day, the BBC ran a TV cut of the Doctor Who At The Proms 2010.
The Proms are a series of popular classical musical concerts that run during the summer, that air on BBC Radio and TV.
Two years ago, they did a Doctor Who special, The Music Of The Spheres, with David Tennant on a prerecorded insert, and plenty of monsters on stage mucking about to the music. This year, Matt Smith did it in person.
The performance also follows the tradition of the British pantomime, full of overblown performances, "I can't hear you" shout outs and dragging audience members out from the crowd to participate. As he did in the scene below…
Except this time, faced with eight year old Ellis, Matt Smith had to improvise heavily as Ellis was ahead of Smith much of the way. And gave him the kind of stare that would cause most to collapse in fear and dread. Do enjoy, it is very silly, very juvenile but absolutely hilarious.
The show also starred Karen Gillen and Arthur Darvill, betten known as Amy and Rory Pond from the TV show. And a bnch of Daleks, Cybermen, Venice Vampires, Silurians and Judoon,
