Category: Video Games Podcast Is Here – Start With Episode 25!

10388391_10154182429545113_13382546_n1Hey guys, Patrick here.

When I came on board to be Bleeding Cool's games guy, I said I wanted to use the opportunity to be more than words on a screen. For most of you, I'm sure that that is all you want from me. That's great! I will continue to oblige that, day in, day out.

For the portion of you who would appreciate consuming a discussion about the news of the gaming week on top of that though, I posit you my Category: Video Games podcast. Bleeding Cool have been nice enough to offer to host the podcast each week and we are excited to be able to offer it to you.

What is C:VG? It is a podcast I co-host that's about gaming news. Now, those are a dime a dozen on the internet. I understand that. Where we try to differentiate is we get an influential voice in the industry to join us each week. We've had all sorts of people on, from Jim Sterling, Moviebob, Miracle of Sound, owner of NeoGAF Tyler Malka and a whole boatload of other gamey types. There was even a lost episode with Adam Sessler.

Every once in a while we might do something a little special on the side too. We've done interviews and discussions with people like Jonathan Coulton, Total Biscuit, Darren Korb and we even did an elaborately produced GotY discussion around Christmas that featured just about everyone, from Greg Miller to the voice of Commander Sheppard, Mark Meer.

We've been going for a few months now, and I currently co-host with Laura Kate and Andre Miller. If you pay attention to the people who write and discuss games, you might have come across Laura before. She's currently a host on the Jimquisition podcast, which at one point was number 6 on the overall Itunes podcast chart. She's also freelanced for a ton of the big gaming websites and currently does bits and bobs over at Destructoid. Andre on the other hand is one of the higher ups at IndieHaven. He prosides over several writer there and makes sure the niche website is one of the best indie exclusive sites on the net.

And obviously, you know me.

An episode will go up every Wednesday from here on out, so if you like consistency, you'll at least get that.

Enough spiel though. Here is your first episode. This week we welcomed on Destructoid Editor-in-Cheif Jonathan Holmes on and we chatted about the closure of Joystiq, Rise of the Tomb Raider, our Dying Light impressions, Mass Effect 4 and a bunch more.

You can catch that here.

Here is a little extra too just to celebrate Bleeding Cool hosting the podcast. Laura sat down with Comedy Button member Brian Altano to talk about his own ludicrously popular comedy podcast. It's a great listen.
