Kryptonian Grammar Exists, And Other Things I Learned From The DC Rebirth: Young Gotham And Young Metropolis Panel At San Diego

How do you do?  It's your old pal Will Romine here with five things I learned from the DC Rebirth: Young Gotham and Young Metropolis panel.  This panel focused on the titles dealing with DC's up and coming generation of heroes, including the Super Sons, Batgirl, Supergirl, and Teen Titans books.

1.  Kryptonian Grammar Exists–  In writing Supergirl, writer Steve Orlando actually developed rules for Kryptonian.  While the language may appear to be nonsense, it does have a structure.

2. The Titans Tower will be more of a clubhouse, less of a condo.  Teen Titans artist Jonboy Meyers took inspiration from breakfast cereal when he described the new Titans Tower as the "honeycomb hideout".  Essentially, more a reflection of the kids who live there, than the adults who (probably) built it.

3. Superboy (Chris Kent)'s shoes are based off of artist Jorge Jimenez's own Adidas.  Writers are often encouraged to write what they know.  I guess that's also true for artists.

4. Superboy's jacket costume is a-w-e-s-o-m-e.  Seriously, I think jacket capes will be for the 2010's what pockets-everywhere was to the 90's.

Well, that's all the juice I could squeeze from this panel.  Stay tuned for more coverage from SDCC.

[Rich adds: Will only had 4 things. I suspect that if you want his fifth thing, you will have to try and track him down at the show…]
