Brand New Trailer Released For Warhammer 40k's 'Dawn of War III'
It's been a long eight years since the last time we saw anything from Warhammer 40,000's acclaimed series Dawn Of War. The sequel has the distinction of being one of 40k's highest reviewed titles ever, and that's saying something for a Tactical RPG that was published by THQ at the time. We've known for about eight months that Dawn of War III was going to happen sometime in 2017, but this past week we finally got a trailer for the game, and it looks nice.
Warning viewers that the footage is a "work in progress," Sega and Relic Entertainment give you roughly two minutes of still frames, cut scenes and gameplay footage with a smoother touch that we've seen in some of the previous 40k games. Many of the actual battles look insane with multiple factions on the board at once, and fights that appear to be a combination of higher-skilled strategy and simple brute force. According to Sega's announcement, the trailer "shows faction leaders Gabriel Angelos, Farseer Macha, and Gorgutz at odds with friend and foe alike, as the mysterious Spear of Khaine draws them further into deadly conflict. Meanwhile, Lord Kyre of the Eldar rises to prominence within the struggle for galactic dominance."
No official date was announced for the game, but looking at the footage, they have to be near finished with the game for this kind of trailer to be out. Most likely we'll get an official date sometime near or at E3 2017.
