Bungie Reveals Destiny 2 Logo
So first we got some leaked posters last week, which indicated a September 8th release date for Bungie's follow-up to Destiny, and they've finally got around to confirming the date. Sort of.
The leaked posters featured a logo for Destiny 2 that matches the one in Bungie's tweet.
So most people are taking that to mean the September date is in fact correct.
However, Bungie has previously stated that we won't hear a thing about Destiny 2 until after the Age of Triumph update to Destiny which goes live tomorrow. So this might just be their way of telling us we'll be getting information on the game tomorrow or Wednesday, since they like to put out blog posts about game updates on Wednesdays.
Personally, I'm thinking this is less a date confirmation and just news that we'll be hearing details soon, since it's a pretty simple logo, to be honest. The one in the infamous posters is just the text. Which is the original Destiny logo with a giant 2 behind it. Not particularly hard to guess, now is it?
Also, a logo is not a release date confirmation. It's incredibly probable that the leaked posters are in fact legitimate, but that doesn't mean the date hasn't changed since then. They could be old posters shipped out to retailers a few months ago, and we all know release dates aren't set in stone.
But quite a few people disagree and think this means we're getting a new Destiny in September. Either way, it's probably going to be better than the original.
