Get Up To Speed On Spider-Man's Origin… Again… With First Of Six Disney XD Animated Shorts

It feels like it was just last week when Marvel revisited the origin of Spider-Man in their Marvel TL;DR web series. Perhaps that's because it was just last week when Marvel revisited the origin of Spider-Man in their Marvel TL;DR web series. Still, that's a long time in Marvel years, so it's time to revisit it once again with a series of animated Origin Shorts produced by the makers of Disney XD's upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man cartoon.

"Disney XD will be releasing a series of six animated shorts retelling Spider-Man's origins ending in the loss of Peter's Uncle Ben ahead of the summer series' release," says a press release on Marvel's website, spoiling the ending of the whole thing. Has Dan Slott seen this? He won't be happy.

The animated shorts will be available one per day starting July 24 ahead of the debut of the show this Summer, on Disney XD and the Disney CD YouTube channel. However, you can watch the first one below, though you'll have to find out what happens, which will be extremely suspenseful for a story we've all seen hundreds of times before.

Here's some super important info about the video that we're just going to copy from the press release because we don't feel like typing it out:

In the first short, Peter Parker is on a field trip to Oscorp Industries when he accidentally gets bitten by a spider. The creative team includes: executive producers Alan Fine, Dan Buckley, Joe Quesada, Jeph Loeb, Cort Lane, and Eric Radomski; co-executive producers Stan Lee, and Stephen Wacker; supervising producers Kevin Shinick and Marsha Griffin; consulting producers Dan Slott, Kevin Burke and Chris "Doc" Wyatt; and Supervising Director Philip Pignotti.
