The CW Agrees To Offer Live Stream To Hulu TV Subscribers
The CW and Hulu have made a deal for the network to offer its live streams to subscribers of Hulu with Live TV and soon there current seasons will be offered on-demand. This is a big change from this time last year when the two had a falling out. Hulu wanted more than the most recent five episodes of series that the CW was offering. So they stopped supplying new programming and promoted there own free app.
A lot has changed in the last year as the CW is now offered on YouTube TV, DirecTV and FuboTV… so working a deal with Hulu made more sense. Which markets will get the live stream remains to be seen as streaming services must make carriage agreements with local broadcast affiliates.
The moves ads the CW to the Hulu live service that already includes ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. The fact that CBS had already agreed to join may have sped up the CW deal, as the network is co-owned by CBS and Warner Bros. The CW is the network for such popular series as Arrow, The Flash, Supernatural, Jane the Virgin, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, The Originals, iZombie and the upcoming series Valor and Black Lightning.
