EVO 2018's Most Popular Game at Signups is Dragon Ball FighterZ
Year by year, it's usually pretty easy to predict what games will be the most popular heading into EVO 2018, based primarily on popularity. For the past few years, Street Fighter has dominated the tournament as the biggest game to receive signups for the tournament. This year, the king has been dethroned, as Dragon Ball FighterZ edged out Street Fighter V to become the most popular title at signups. The stats made their way to Twitter this morning for people to check out, as DBF 2,530 players, a whole 109 people more than SFV.
People have also been quick to point out that Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U edged out Super Smash Bros. Melee in signups. According to EVO 2018's Joey Cuellar on Twitter from a week ago, he declared that there will never be three Super Smash Bros. at the event. Some have predicted that once Super Smash Bros. Ultimate makes its debut with the roster it's boasting, that will be the end of seeing either Melee or the Wii U version at EVO, period.
