The Tweets That Got Eve L. Ewing the Ironheart Gig

There was the petition seen by Marvel. There was the approach Marvel made. There was all the work, including Eve submitting a spec script outside of her usual and expected working practices. But the origins of poet and playwright Eve L. Ewing getting the Ironheart gig came from a number of tweets made last year, as Brian Michael Bendis, co-creator of Riri Williams and lead creator on the character, was leaving Marvel for DC Comics.

It started with a seeming joke.

Then a little friendly lookalike competition.

And a hashtag was born

And a petition launched by Tirhakah Love.

And the rest is history…
