Avengers #13 Makes the Garden of Eden Part of Marvel Comics Continuity (Spoilers)
Today's Avengers #13 by Jason Aaron, Andrea Sorrentino, Justin Posner and Erick Arciniega takes us back to the days of Avengers 1,000,000 BC, and the origins of their Iron Fist, the first to wear that name, Fan Fei of the city of K'un-Lun, named as the most exalted of the seven capital cities of Heaven. And one expelled, after teaching martial arts skills to the cavemen of that time.
Which itself smacks of Adam and Eve expelled from the Garden of Eden for eating of the Tree Of Knowledge. But where there is a tree, there must also be a snake.
Yep, that's Mephisto. But, after failing to come to terms with this new Iron Fist, Mephisto turns his attention elsewhere. Ape King Gorgilla.
And offering him a very different fruit… an Infinity Fruit.
So what's next? Apocalypse leading the Israelites through the desert?
