Fantasy Flight Games Announces Shoretroopers for Star Wars: Legion
Now that Star Wars: Legion is entering its second year in production, Fantasy Flight Games has been able to fill out the roster of available troops to allow for more diversity in army selection.
Empire players are about to get a lot more bang for their buck with the release of the Imperial Shoretroopers Unit Expansion sometime in the second quarter of 2019!
The Empire has many secrets to protect. While an assignment to the tropical planet of Scarif may seem pleasant to soldiers stationed in harsher climes, protecting these countless secrets is a task that requires constant vigilance. Now, new Imperial troops are on their way to ensure no Rebel breaches Imperial security.
There will be seven new figures available in the Imperial Shoretroopers Unit Expansion, with five standard troopers- one is equipped with a T-21B targeting rifle, ready to lay down long range pain to enemies of the Empire.
There is also going to be an additional long range trooper, this one equipped with a DF-90 Mortar. That's one fearsome looking piece of firepower!
Best of all, the Shoretroopers are a standard troops choice, which means you can fill out your required three basic troops choices with a little more variety now!
On the battlefields of Star Wars: Legion, Shoretroopers become the most elite option for filling out the corps units that make up the rank-and-file of your Imperial armies. In addition to their advanced training, Shoretroopers are the first Imperial unit to carry the upgraded E-22 blaster rifle, making them more dangerous than Stormtroopers or Snowtroopers based on their armament alone.
The mortar team looks like it can be deployed separately from the main squad as an additional artillery detachment, similar to the way snipers can be deployed with Scout Troopers.
The Imperial Shoretroopers Unit Expansion set for Star Wars: Legion will be available in the second quarter of 2019, check with your local game store for pre-order information!
