Immortal Hulk Gossip – to Relaunch Or Not? And When?
Bleeding Cool's Jude Terror was previously convinced that Marvel Comics was to cancel Immortal Hulk's run with issue 25 and then, potentially restart it with a brand new shiny issue 1, with the same creative team of Al Ewing and Joe Bennett. He was wrong.
But he wasn't far wrong.
I am told that that was the original plan with issue #25, but the sales team and editorial decided together that the series had been gaining so many readers and goodwill that it may be akin to killing the gamma-irradiated goose. So the series was allowed to continue under its ongoing numbering. For now.
However in 2020, there is a reason that The Immortal Hulk will need to change its name. And for that you will get a new #1…
But first Immortal Hulk #25 is being billed as a 'very special issue' of the series. To the extent that Marvel Comics are to add a 1:200 variant cover by Ed McGuinness to help boost those numbers…
