The Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular Will Feature Punchline
We all know what happened to Batman #89 and Hell Arisen #3. Not yet published, they are already going for stupid money on eBay in advance. Well at least retailers will know about this one well in advance.
Because even though Punchline debuts in next week's Batman #89, selling for up to $40 in advance online right now (which must come down after the 100,000 copies actually go on sale) followed by Year of the Villain: Hell Arisen #3 (which may be harder to get but then at least is a second appearance) the following week, DC Comics will have a Punchline-featured DC Nation print column, with quotes from James Tynion IV and Jorge Jimenez, timed to the release of March's Batman #92. DC house ads promoting Batman #92, focused on Punchline, a James Tynion IV press interview to discuss Punchline's role in Batman #94, the prelude to "Joker War"…
And then we get Punchline's origin story in the Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1. Something which DC Comics didn't choose to mention in the solicitation. And has a FOC date of the end of March, so plenty of time if retailers want to up their orders, depending how Batman #89 and Hell Arisen #3 actually do…
