He's conquered TNA! He's conquered New Japan Pro Wrestling! He's conquered WWE! He hasn't quite wrapped his mind around that whole "Earth is a sphere" thing yet, but hey, nobody's perfect. And now, AJ Styles has set his sights on the world championship of comic book writing!

With that goal in mind, Styles is co-writing a story for BOOM's WWE Royal Rumble 2018 special. But in the world of comics, just like in the world of pro wrestling, it pays to have a friend to watch your back. Luckily, Styles will be tagging with co-writer Michael Kingston of Headlocked fame for the story.

"AJ and I are friends and we have similar creative mindsets, so working with him is a breeze," Kingston casually bragged of his relationship with the pro wrestling superstar. "We collaborated on a story for Headlocked that was a lot of fun, so when the opportunity to work together again arose, it was really a no-brainer."

Ryan Ferrier, Kevin Panetta, Kendall Goode, and Daniel Bayliss are all credited in the super-sized issue. The regular cover is illustrated by Xermánico, with a Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman variant by Juan Doe.

"I've performed in arenas all over the world, but the most special debut was in front of the WWE Universe at Royal Rumble," said Styles in the press release.

At press time, it was unclear whether the camera would be focused on Roman Reigns for the majority of Styles' story, just as it was for his debut at the Royal Rumble in 2016.
