Jughead Almost Gets Archie And Betty Killed: Archie's Funhouse Comics Double Digest 25
We continue with Dan Parent's take on another classic fairy, Hansel and Gretel. Betty and Archie play the lead characters who are trying to make a delivery to an unknown character.
In typical Archie fashion the duo gets lost, Archie's phone dies, and when they try to follow his chip trail back home, they discover Jughead has eaten said trail. And while Jughead is a nuisance in this story, he does wind up saving the day. This story is a great easy read.
The rest of the digest is a fantastic mix of classic stories from a lot of talented Archie artists. There's a good portion of the book dedicated to Archie & Friends Cyber Adventure, a 2011 story from Stephen Oswald and Joe Staton. Archie buys a new ZBox which causes Jughead and Archie to play it all night. Archie's parents aren't thrilled with this, so they compromise and turn their garage into Archie's own arcade. Things are going well, but because this wouldn't be an Archie story without something happening, Dilton presents a new way for the gang to play video games. It's a little on the creepy as hell side and it does get the gang into a bit of trouble, but like any Archie story there is a happy ending!
Like with every digest Archie puts out, this is another great addition to anyone's collection!
