That 'Avengers Assemble' Line in Brexit: The Uncivil War

Obviously, Brexit was won by geeks. But tonight's Brexit: The Uncivil War on Channel 4 starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Dominic Cummings and directed by Toby Haynes, made it official.

Written by James Graham, he seems to have noted a certain geekiness amongst some of the main figures in the Vote Leave camp. And underlined that in one of the opening scenes, with political strategist Matthew Elliott played by John Heffernan meeting Conservative-turned-UKIP MP Douglas Carswell played by Simon Paisley Day in the National Gallery for a meeting to plan what would become Vote Leave, and Elliott's recruitment of Cummings…

I am told this was just the tip of the iceberg. Of course, Brexit appeared in Avengers, so why not.
