Will Your Comic Store Get Batman: Noir Alley By Stuart Moore And Valentine De Landro?

In advertisements in tomorrow's DC Comics titles, readers can learn about Noir Alley, an exclusive Batman comic coming to comic book stores from TCM, to help promote their Noir Alley strand of television shows.

The comic was given away in what appears to be very limited numbers at San Diego Comic-Con this year. The comics sell online for about $15 to $25 each.

But of the comic itself, there's very little information, let alone exactly when it may be appearing in comic stores. Here is what I've been able to uncover:

Will Your Comic Store Get Batman: Noir Alley By Stuart Moore And Valentine De Landro?

It has a cover by Dan Panosian that evokes classic film noir imagery with a skulking Batman looking on. There is a creative list, and though it's not written down anywhere I can find online, there is this scan on an eBay listing. This lets us know it has a fine creative pedigree of Stuart Moore, Valentine De Landro, and Steve Buccellato.

And it begins with the claim "Without the movies, there would be no Batman," and we get a faked version of The Maltese Falcon playing out…

And we have a plot! One that even mirrors the original theme. But don't imagine this is all knocked back black, whites, and greys — Steve Buccellato has other ideas. Oh, this is a bit spoilery — these may be the final pages. Hmm.

I'd be interested in reading the rest, certainly. Copies don't appear to have been sent by DC Comics to comic book stores yet, but with the ads in tomorrow's comics, will we discover something soon?

Maybe don't pay $25 for this comic quite yet. Especially if your comic store is sent a few dozen to give away…
