BC FCBD Roundup: Steampunk Intrigue with 'Lady Mechanika'
Another Free Comic Book Day has come and gone, and as we all cackle with glee at our new found comics riches, one thought keeps creeping into my mind-
What about the stuff I missed?
I had to work this morning, so by the time I made it to my Friendly Local Comic Shop, quite a few of the titles I had been looking forward to were already gone. I know a few folks that wouldn't be able to come at all, so what are we to do? Did we miss out on all the goodies?
Where I can, I'll fill you in on where you can find some, if not all, of the comics that came out for Free Comic Book Day 2019.
Lady Mechanika is a steampunk adventure comic, written and illustrated by Joe Benitez. And here's the thing about Lady Mechanika– it's a pretty lush looking book, with a lot of gorgeous, eye-popping art. It's one of the better examples of steam-punk as a genre on the market.
The good news for those of you that missed Lady Mechanika at this year's Free Comic Book Day is that all of the stories contained between these two covers have already seen print.
The original 14 page introduction story is contained within, as well as snippets of stories from "The Clockwork Assassin" and the latest graphic novel collection, "La Belle Dame Sans Merci". All of these collections should be at your local comic shop, or easily ordered from them.
(W) Joe Benitez (A/CA) Joe BenitezIntroduce new readers to this steampunk bestseller, which has been remarkably successful with female readers, art enthusiasts, and customers who are new to comics. Includes the original 14-page one-shot introducing Lady Mechanika, a young woman in Victorian England with mechanical limbs and no memory of how she got them, searching desperately for the secrets to her past, plus excerpts from available or upcoming Lady Mechanika comics.
