Buy Dan DiDio For A Thousand Dollars
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is appealing to raise $100,000 by the end of October, to pay for "urgent legal and education work." This includes the first payments to the case of Brandon X, an American arrested in Canada becaiuse of the comics on his laptop. Thankfully they've got the New York Comic Con slap bang in the middle of that timeframe.
So while they are asking people to become members of the CBLDF at $25 a pop, they also have some other higher end membership options. Such as ones that come with a professional development review from the co-publisher of DC Comics, Dan DiDio, for a cool grand.
Other professional development purchases include Bob Schreck of Legendary Comics, Terry Moore, Scott Allie, Dave Gibbons and Gail Simone for $500, and Brian Azzarello, Ben Templesmith, Frank Quitely, Greg Rucka and Paul Levitz for $250.
Or if it's not about work, work, work, how about grabbing lunch with these folks and more at New York Comic Con? Dan DiDio, Keith Giffens and friend will cost you $1000 as will Mike Mignola, Scott Allie and friends. Lunch with Jeff Smith will cost $500. While lunch with Brian Azzarello or drinks with Ben Templesmith and friends will cost $250.
But tea with Neil Gaiman? $5000.
