CAFU is the New Venom Artist Starting with Venom #17 in March
Hey guys, Jude Terror here, filling in on comics news for Rich Johnston today while he undergoes emergency penis enlargement surgery. Rich has pre-written a bunch of stories today, but he isn't around to cover new ones until later, so that duty falls on yours truly. Heh. Doody. Anyway, we've got some news from a Marvel press release today, as Marvel notes CAFU will be the new Venom artist starting in March with Venom #17. The Marvel-exclusive artist who's so famous he can go by one name, like Beyoncé, or Sting (the singer), or Sting (the wrestler), has recently finished up a run on Iron Man and, as that series got relaunched with a new number one issue, is free to join Al Ewing and Ram V on the popular symbiote series until that too gets relaunched with a new number one issue.
CAFU replaces Bryan Hitch, who will continue to provide covers for the post-Dark-Web era of the book. In the press release, CAFU said, "Since I was a kid, the Marvel Universe and its characters have been a huge part of my life, especially Spider-Man and his entire rogues gallery. For this reason, it's been a dream come true signing this new exclusivity contract with the best comic book publisher in the world and also drawing VENOM, one of my favorite characters in all the Spider-Verse!"
In Venom #17, Eddie Brock returns to the Garden of Time and face off against Bedlam, the terrifying being born of his own rage, the press release tells us. That exciting tale should be good enough to get the book through until the next super-mega-crossover event. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go sit at Rich's desk in the Bleeding Cool bullpen and pretend to be him, which ought to really annoy Kaitlyn. Pip pip, chaps! Check out the covers to Venom #17 below.
