At the Baltimore Diamond Retail Summit, the distributor laid down some solid statistics. That showed for the comparative year so far, 2016 is down on 2015 overall by 2.2% although graphic novels sales are up by 2.4%. It's a reminded that the drop in sales of -2.6% for comics is still far more impactful to the direct market.
But it's not all doom and gloom. The amount of comic book stores is up 3.6%.
That won't however, take into account the bankruptcy of Hastings. So look forward, if that's a word, to a larger drop next year…
Of course, there are a lot of statistics to take account of this year.
