DC Comics Returns To Continuity, Leaves Previews For A Month And Dan DiDio's Favourite Rebirth Is Super Sons #InStoreKickOff #ConKickOff2016

Dan DiDio peered in to the Instore Convention Kickoff, streaming to comic stores across the USA.

He talked about how the DCTV shows are creating tight continuity between them, just as DC Comics was walking away from that in their own continuity with DC You and more, and Dan saw this as DC abandoning their greatest asset.

So, yes, continuity is back, big time. And it all begins on May 25th with the Rebirth Special, 80 pages for $2.99, with lots of surprises. Will the President make it out alive???

And his favourite of the upcoming Rebirth titles… is Super Sons.

He also talked about Gerry Conway about taking Firestorm back to what he intended for the character at the very beginning. Expect to see him, Rip Hunter and the other Legends Of Tomorrow in the DC Comics line… and when they start double shipping, with less overall titles but the same amount of issues, will see more characters developed within those books, with an aim of spinning them off.

As to Tom King writing the Batman bi-monthly comic, scooped by Bleeding Cool? Dan would confirm he was exclusive with DC Comics and how King can basically write what he wants after Grayson… and how his favourite Marvel comic title is Tom King's Vision, because it drove him mad with how much he liked it. So he made Tom exclusive…

But as with questions about Blue Beetle, more Green Lantern titles and the Justice Society of America, suddenly there was a lot of crackle on the line… "unanswerable at this time" was the best you got.

Dan DiDio also said that people at DC were far harsher with themselves than anyone on-line could be. Is that just me or did the Bleeding Cool commentators just go "challenge accepted…"

He also confirmed Bleeding Cool's story about DC Comics not being in Diamond Comic Distributor's Previews catalogue for one month, and having their own spinoff Rebirth magazine catalogue for June's solicits.

Also he wants to see Alan Moore's Swamp Thing picked up by DC's DTV animation department. And his pet project is the Hanna Barbara books they are doing.
