Dynamite Entertainment Takes The Big Apple – NYCC Recap

Publisher and CEO Nick Barrucci may have been the most quoted guy in comics over the last week. Dynamite Entertainment had a slew of announcements leading up to the convention that ranged from tapping into classic comics, reviving a horror icon and even putting a steampunk spin on some pulp heroes and getting ready for it's 10th anniversary next year.

Here is a recap of the week that was.

Sunday's 10th Anniversary Panel had Andy Diggle, Matt Wagner, Dennis Calero, Fred Van Lente, Greg Pak, Victor Gischler, Frank Barbiere, and Cory Smith talking about upcoming projects.

Herik Hanna and Bruno Bessadi to start up a new series called Bad Ass.

Evil Ernie and Chaos! Comics return with Tim Seeley at the helm.

Gold Key classic comics Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Magnus: Robot Fighter, Doctor Spektor and Solar: Man Of The Atom to be written by Mark Waid, Greg Pak, Fred Van Lente and Frank Barbiere.

Control, a new police procedural by Andy Diggle, Angela Cruickshank and Ben Oliver.

An all-ages book called Li'l Dynamite with Red Sonja, Vampirella, Evil Ernie, Battlestar Galactica and the Bionic Man!

Two of the bad-girls of comics, Dawn and Vampirella getting together from the mind of Joseph Michael Linsner.

Bill WIllingham is taking Vampirella, The Green Hornet, The Phantom, Red Sonja and many many more into the world of Steampunk.

We get to see what the sixth season of the Six-Million Dollar Man would have been like thanks to Jim Kuhoric.

Conan and Red Sonja will cross over twice in a publishing deal with Dark Horse Comics.

British illustrator Jock to get his own art book.

Matt Wagner introduces his Grendel to The Shadow in another crossover deal with Dark Horse Comics.
