Pierce Brown Brings Red Rising Prequel To Comics With Dynamite At San Diego

Dynamite Entertainment is bringing another fan-favorite author to the world of comics. This time it's Pierce Brown and his Red Rising science fiction trilogy. The new comic series, Sons of Ares, is a prequel to his novels.

The Red Rising trilogy exposes a color-coded society of the future. The series' hero is Darrow, a member of the lowest caste in this world. As a Red, Darrow grew up working the mines deep beneath the surface of Mars, enduring backbreaking labor while dreaming of the better future he was building for his descendants… but the Society he faithfully served was built on lies. Darrow's kind have been betrayed and denied by their elitist masters, the Golds – and their only path to liberation is revolution.

Sons of Ares will establish the groundwork for the Red Rising universe, revealing the never-before-explored origins for fan-favorite characters of the trilogy.

From the official biography of Pierce Brown at www.redrisingbook.com: Pierce Brown spent his childhood building forts and setting traps for cousins in the woods of six states and the deserts of two. Graduating from college in 2010, he fancied the idea of continuing his studies at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a magical bone in his body. So while trying to make it as a writer, he worked as a manager of social media at a startup tech company, toiled as a peon on the Disney lot at ABC Studios, did his time as an NBC page, and gave sleep deprivation a new meaning during his stint as an aide on a U.S. Senate campaign. Now he lives Los Angeles, where he scribbles tales of spaceships, wizards, ghouls, and most things old or bizarre.

Dynamite Entertainment's Sons of Ares comic book series will launch in 2017. No creative team has been announced at this time.
