I'm a fan of the old pulp characters and one that has never gotten the notoriety that he should is The Spider. Though Dynamite Entertainment has done a pretty good job of bringing this classic character to modern audiences. Here is the first issue of the series by author David Liss and artist Colton Worley.

More of the Spider series is available as part of the current Dynamite Humble Bundle for Best-Selling Authors. Which is like 120 comics for whatever you want to pay. Or, Dynamite is doing a contest to give away some of the top tier bundles.
