UPDATE: Make that "had" a booth…

Turns out it was the work of The Honey Badger Brigade, a satirical Gamergate supporting anti-censorship and male support group.

A booth at Calgary Expo has a Gamergate banner, selling Vivian James art, a character created by 4chan folk to represent an idealised view of women in gaming, or to to parody the targets of Gamergate activism. Your call.

More than that, it is alleged that booth members are aiming to disrupt schedule panels with a feminist focus at the show with female representatives fighting for Men's Rights.

It's that unnerving moment you feel when something that seems to exist purely online, is suddenly very much in the real world. Agent Smith has just managed to dial himself off the Matrix…
