Comic book creator Ivan Velez posted as to the release of a new Milestone Compilation from DC Comics next month, as Milestone Compilation Three, part of a series reprinting the entire Milestone publishing line, as originally printed and distributed by DC Comics . "Milestone publishes their 3rd compilation but leaves me off the cover credits. My Static run and half of my Blood Syndicate run is in there. No royalties or reprint payments. Just that endemic mainstream comics exploitation of talent."
Ivan Velez wrote Static #19-29 as well as Blood Syndicate #1 to #17 and #19 to #30, finishing with #33-#35. Milestone Compendium Three contains Deathwish #1-4, Blood Syndicate #24-27, Hardware #22-28, Icon #22-27, Static #21-25, Shadow Cabinet #5-13 and Kobalt #1-14. So, yes, a cover credit might seem appropriate. He got one for Milestone Compendium One and Two.
But it seems, according to his TikTok, that he didn't get any royalties or payments from the reprints. Which is really something that DC Comics might want to address. He did, however, get two comp copies of the book, which is how he knows that he didn't even get cover credited…
