James Tynion IV & Eryk Donovan Are Bringing Us End Of The World Series Cognetic
Ever find yourself asking the question, "If I were I charge, things would be better? If I had total power, I could make a perfect world?" I think we can all agree that's a pretty common feeling. But what if there was someone—or something—bigger than humanity that had the same thought? What if this single being decided to take control of humanity and set it on a different course? Well, BOOM! Studios is about to explore those questions in combination with James Tynion IV and Eryk Donovan this fall. The upcoming series entitled, Cognetic, will be an oversized three-issue event.
BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon shares his thoughts on the project by saying:
James and Eryk are breaking the mould with one fantastic apocalyptic 'what if' after another. Memetic was a horrifying digital apocalypse that made us all think twice about sharing funny memes, while Cognetic taps into the innate desire for control that everyone has and proves how deadly it can be. This new look at how the world ends will hit you with the hard question: What would you sacrifice to save humanity?
The story will follow a powerful psychic being that once controlled one-third of the world's population in a hivemind. When the being resurfaces to set humanity back on track, the people of New York City struggle to comprehend the strange and horrifying things happening to them, and one young woman in the FBI will have to pay a terrible price if she's going to save them.
Cognetic #1 (of 3) is oversized at 48 pages and will arrive in comic shops on October 21st.
