Jonathan Hickman & Chris Bachalo on Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood
A while ago, Bleeding Cool learned that Jonathan Hickman was working on… something, again with Chris Bachelo for Marvel Comics. We didn't know what. Well, we do now. Gamesradar has run the news that they are working on a story for a new Moon Knight anthology, Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood, following the recent Marvel naming of such books, such as Carnage, Elektra, Deadpool, Wolverine and the like. And with a Moon Knight trailer dropped, with Marc Spector sounding like Alan Bennett, now is a good time for Marvel Comics to get press for some of their own stuff as well. Jonathan Hickman recently stopped writing as X-Men lead writer, and he has teased a big new Marvel Comics project. This, likely isn't it, but it may well fill the gap.
This April, Marvel Comics launches the four-issue anthology Moon Knight: Black, White, and Blood – delving into the dark side of the Fist of Khonshu, as well as his potential replacement. Moon Knight: Black, White, & Blood #1 will have short stories by:
Writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Chris Bachalo
Writer Marc Guggenheim and artist Jorge Fornés
Writer Murewa Ayodele and artist Dotun AkandaHickman and Bachalo's story will introduce a new Moon Knight, taking place sometime in the near future – but apparently unrelated to the recently introduced other Fist of Khonshu, Hunter's Moon, introduced in the main Moon Knight ongoing comic book series.
Notably Murewa Ayodele is a Nigerian writer, making their Marvel debut, who broke onto the scene with New Men from Action Lab Entertainment in 2020, as well as the web comic series My Grandfather Was A God. and the Man Of The Law video series. Dotun Akanda however, is new to me.
