Dan DiDio and Bob Wayne have just presented the Before Watchmen panel at Kapow, giving us a first look at the Josh Middleton cover for Silk Spectre as well as some very brief, blurry looks at some of the interior art…
Dan also told us that the Silk Spectre book is being co-written by Amanda Conner as well, with Darwyn giving her a basic plot. He also described the promotion of the book in the UK as "a therapy session for us all"…
Bob Wayne diverted the Alan Moore style questions, so I asked if Before Watchmen would match Watchmen's attempt to innovate in terms of comics storytelling. The respose was mixed, initially saying the different artists would be doing their work to the best of the abilities, but innovative storytelling didn't seem to be a priority. Bob did add specifically that he believes Amanda Conner is very much stretching herself into new storytelling ideas, and Dan Didio also highlighted the way she creates fantasy sequences.
