Kitty Pryde Uses Power Point to Figure Out the Point of All This in Hunt for Wolverine: Dead Ends

We feel pretty safe at this point in calling the Hunt for Wolverine series of minis and one-shots a transparent cash grab. Originally launched with the implication that this would be the return of Wolverine, we later learned that the return would actually happen in the Return of Wolverine mini-series, rendering all of the hunting pointless, aside from padding Marvel's coffers with the price of four four-issue mini-series and two one-shots, of course. That's not to say the series themselves were bad. Each had its own unique charm that could be enjoyed on its own outside the context of the Hunt for Wolverine gimmick, but suffered by being a part of the absurdly long, drawn-out return of Wolverine that began in the Marvel Legacy One-Shot that hit stores *nearly a god damn year ago* and isn't set to end until sometime in 2019.

But despite the distinct lack of Wolverine finding in Hunt for Wolverine, one thing the event has accomplished has been to set up a new villainous group: the mysterious Soteira organization. We know that Soteira is behind the creation of a town full of zombies in Hunt for Wolverine: Claws of a Killer, as well as the abduction of Daken. We know they were looking for Wolverine's body and DNA in Hunt for Wolverine: Adamantium Agenda. In Hunt for Wolverine: Weapon Lost, Soteira was behind the murder of people who had witnessed Wolverine since his return, and the team uncovered a recording of a Soteira job interview with what appeared to be the real Wolverine. In Mystery in Madripoor, Soteira was paying Viper and the Femme Fatales to execute an evil rocket launch that was foiled by the X-Women. They've got their fingers conveniently in a lot of Wolverine pies, it seems, which of course begs the question: what the hell are the ingredients of a Wolverine pie? Yechh!

Anyway, in this week's Hunt for Wolverine: Dead Ends, Kitty Pryde will put together all of the pieces of this puzzle, presumably leading into a major storyline for upcoming X-books, or perhaps even for Return of Wolverine.  But how will she do it? Will she need to purchase and read 18 separate comic books to study the evidence like the rest of us dummies? Nope. Kitty has a better way to sum things up…

Wait a minute. The X-Men have had technology since the 1960s that allows them to create a fully-realized artificial environment in their basement, but in 2018, they haven't found a better way to organize information… than with a power point presentation?!

Hunt for Wolverine: Dead Ends is in stores on Wednesday. You'd better buy it because it apparently won't be collected in the trade paperbacks.

THE HUNT IS OVER.
The hunt for Wolverine is over… Now the time has come to put the pieces together and see what was learned. Kitty Pryde, Daredevil, Tony Stark and Sabretooth may have found what they were looking for…but it wasn't what they expected. Where has Wolverine been? What has he been doing?

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened.
