Lone Doom and Cub in Doom 2099 #1 [Preview]
Doom 2099 #1 is in stores from Marvel Comics next week, by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Castiello, as Marvel desperately hopes one of these 2099 one-shots will land and warrant at least a spinoff mini-series or two.
Although this story takes place in the future, it doesn't seem very futuristic, since we find a family dragging a captive in a Thor-themed land where no technology works.
The captive's face bears some familiar markings.
And then the Thorites decide to cut to the chase and murder their captive.
But he's not such an easy target. And one of their own betrays them.
And Doom decides to take the child under his care, at least for now.
Daddy Doom? Lone Doom and Cub? Now that's a spinoff we'd be down for.
Doom 2099 #1 hits stores on Wednesday.
