Mark Texeira's latest Hero is a Kickstarter

Ricardo Sanchez writes for Bleeding Cool:

texeiraThe Ghost Rider artist turns to the crowd sourcing site to raise funds for a superhero story he says is different than what we've seen before. Artist Mark Texeira, best known for his work on Marvel's Ghost Rider, Moon Knight and Wolverine, has turned to Kickstarter to launch his latest effort, A Hero's Death.

The 48 page graphic novel, co-developed with writer Ricardo Sanchez (Resident Evil, Legends of the Dark Knight,) is going to be a fully painted project, a combination of watercolor and acrylics. Mark has already started working on several pages of the book in anticipation of it funding.

hero-logo-1The book is about a hero that died twenty years ago trying to save a family in a building collapse, and the void created by the hero's death. The events in the story take place both at the time of the hero's death and in the present, as the truth of what happened twenty years ago is revealed.

"A Hero's Death isn't a typical superhero story. It has action, it has a hero, but it's really about what makes someone want to help people and the people who need help, it's about regret, it's about failure. There's a lot of story packed into those 48 pages," Mark said, summarizing the book. "It's something you haven't seen before."

The Kickstarter is up right now if you want to find out more.
