Nerd Food: Superman Ice Cream At Coney Waffle
Despite it being 66 degrees and rainy at Asbury Park, NJ, today, my mom and I wanted ice cream. It's kind of our thing when we can't decide on what real food we want to eat. (Don't judge us, we're adults. I swear.)
Coney Waffle, right on the Asbury Park boardwalk, was open on this dreary day. They had a number of delicious looking ice cream flavors, but there was one that called to me immediately: Superman.
From what I recall, it was blueberry, raspberry, and vanilla. I'm probably wrong (because I'm an idiot who didn't write it down), but it looked like Superman was blended into an ice cream flavor.
Oh man. This had potential to be awful (I don't really care for those flavors) but I'm also a nerd and I like to live on the edge.
Well for starters, it looks cool. I will certainly give them props for that. And honestly? It was actually pretty good. My mom got coffee flavor, and between the two of us it set us back $9. Not terrible for a once-in-a-while treat! If you're in the area, try this place, and give the Superman ice cream a shot. It's legit.
