Now the Dead Rabbit Cocktail Menus Are Comic Book Collector Items

Bleeding Cool has reported since last May that there may have been an issue between the Dead Rabbit bar in New York, which publishes menus as comic books, collects them and sells them on Amazon as Mixology books, and the Dead Rabbit comic by Gerry Duggan and John McCrea published by Image Comics. And how the bar trademarked the name just after the Image comic was announced.

We reported on the Cease & Desist notices sent by the bar to Image Comics and New York store Forbidden Planet and how a legal suit began after those notices were apparently not acted upon. And how Image Comics and Diamond Comic Distribution issued a mandatory recall notice on those first two issues in the light of that action.

We then reported on the increase in value the Dead Rabbit comic books suddenly attracted on eBay.

Issue 1 and 2, standard covers, just sold for $30 while the 1:20 variant covers sold for $120 the set.

Well, in a twist fuelled by comic book collectors wanting to own both sides of the story, people have started putting the Dead Rabbit bar's cocktail menus on eBay as well. And getting a pretty penny for those too. Their first menu just sold for $100 on eBay, most go for around $50. And only since the court case was publicised…
