Pick Your Own Price For Original Cal McDonald Novel
Savage Membrane, the first prose story of Cal McDonald published originally by IDW is now available through Bloody Pulp Books for whatever you want to pay.
First released in 2001, the pill-popping, attitude-having, detective of the macabre has seen print in both prose and comic form with three novels (Savage Membrane, Guns, Drugs & Monsters, Dial M For Monster) and fourteen mini-series (Including Hairball, Criminal Macabre, Last Train To Deadsville, My Demon Baby).
Cal made his debut in Hairball, a comic Niles self-published with art by Casey Jones, but it was Savage Membrane with a cover by Ashley Wood that brought the character into more prominence and eventually the comic series moved on to Dark Horse where its been for the last ten years.
Niles seems to be determined to change the way the industry is working having recently conducted two "in-store appearances" by way of Skype and now he's offering up the digital version of Savage Membrane set at a "Name Your Price" option. Both of these moves is a boon to readers. I'm curious to see what other innovations Niles has in mind.
