Poison Ivy #30 rewrites the Alan Moore's original Swamp Thing story of humanity and the Green (Spoilers)

Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers… In Alan Moore's final issue of Swamp Thing, issue 64 with Steve Bissette, Tom Yeates and Rick Veitch from 1987, Swamp Thing uses his abilities to look into the past and sees a history of The Green and the Parliament Of Trees.

A world of Green but one that did not stop the fish, insects, birds, reptiles and mammals from taking their place in the world.

This is all as a lesson for Swamp Thing from the Parliament of Trees not to play god with the world he lived in, to take a laissez-faire approach to humanity and life… save for Abby Holland.

In today's Poison Ivy #30 by G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara, we get a new history, told in a flip book, one spotlighting Poison Ivy, the other, Janet from HR.

Also a love story, with the Green now asking what Poison Ivy would do for Janet From HR, and vice versa. Hopes, fears, desires, mistrust, the usual. Meanwhile, Poison Ivy gets a new story of those past days courtesy of The Gray, when mankind first stepped out onto the land.

And a much more active Parliament Of Trees than had previously told. Not just letting humanoids come down from the trees, but manipulating them further.

The Parliament of Trees believed that agriculture domesticated and neutered humanity. Apparently, farms was the Green's idea, though it got a bit out of hand.

Now Poison Ivy takes a new role in the DC Universe as Green, Grey and Human ambassador…  Poison Ivy #30 by G. Willow Wilson and Marcio Takara is published by DC Comics today. Taking both sides…
