Are You In Singapore This Weekend? Come To Comic Con
Apparently CB Cebulski, Matt Fraction and Ivan Brandon are already enjoying the bar life. This weekend sees the Singapore Toy, Comics And Comic Convention take place, the first under the new ownership of Reed Expo, owners of the NYCC and C2E2.
And, befitting this, the theme is one of East Meets West. So Marvel people are out there, manning the booth, populating the bars and looking for new talent.
Comics faces also include Alex Maleev, Alice Chan, David Lloyd, Esad Ribic, Gail Simone, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Harvey Tolibao, Jason Siu, Koto Nishiyama, Leinil Francis Yu, Mori Chack, Phil Ortiz, Phil Yeh, Salvador Larroca, Shinichiro Kitai, Simone Legno, Sonny Liew, Tan Eng Huat and Tim Tsui and a large local Artists Alley.
Lucasfilm and IDM Singapore will bne recruiting for a whole bunch of jobs from Environment Supervisor, to Senior Creature Technical Creator, and Senior Matte Paionters, both for digital and non-digital shooting, as well as promoting Lucasfilm Animation Singapore's Jedi Academy for budding creative talent to work as interns, supporting production teams, and the Jedi Master Program for apprenticeships.
Of course if you're just up for freebies, there's that too, with half a million Singapore dollars worth of free stuff to be handed out. Although not all to just one person, that would be insane.
The first 500 people through the door on Friday and Sunday get Ghostbuster minimates, and on Saturday get an Animax goodie bag.
On top, there will be giveaways of Sheng Tai toy capsules, comics from GnB Comics and Jove Pat Media, Marvel superhero posters, Playworks magazine, Pororo chopsticks (st screenings) and Generator Rex T-shirts, lanyards and USB sticks at the Asian Premiere.
Kinokuniya Trexis are up for grabs for the five fans who answer Clone Wars trivia questions at the panel with Rob Lodermeier, Lead Animator and Josh Robinson, Lead Asset Artist. Other panels giving away Kinokuniya cash vouchers and Vertigo Sandman statues.

Action City is having an exclusive 1st launch of collectible BE@RBRICK box set designed by renowned UGLYDOLL designer, Mr. David Horvath.
There will be a special presentation on the visual effects for Iron Man 2 from Industrial Light & Magic, with Phil Pham and Abishek Nair, two of the digital artists involved.
