Batman #13 And Batgirl #13 Sold Out By 3PM Yesterday, And Ghosts #1 To Get A Free 50% Overship
Bob Wayne was on fine form at this morning's DC Comics presentation during the NYCC Retailer Breakfast.
He began noting that, one year from the DC New 52 Relaunch, DC were again the top company, beating people's scepticism, and also sticking the knife into Marvel saying "when you relaunch your entire line, returnability is the way to get good results"
He announced that as of 3pm Eastern Time, the overprint on Batgirl 13 and Batman 13 had burnt through and that the comics would be reprinted without the die-cut wraparound, but something else just as cool.
He also mentioned that the other Batman: Death Of The Family books are still available for reorder.
Bob also announced that DC believed retailers may have underordered the upcoming Ghosts #1 anthology, that Bleeding Cool has featured previously. Noting that it had Joe Kubert's final story, DC will be sending a free overship of 50% of the book's print run to retailers… but that still they probably won't have enough copies…
And most entertainingly, DC's John Cunningham put an extra Mad Magazine slide on the presentation featuring Bob Wayne in a straitjacket to celebrate his twenty-five years in the industry. Bob did give out a rather wonderful expression of surprise, annoyance and amusement as it suddenly appeared…
